I didn't really enjoy the first batch of homemade toothpaste I made. It was overwhelmingly coconuty and greasy. After it sat on the counter a while, the mixture started to separate. I poured off some of the accumulated coconut oil. Then I added more essential oil and stevia. Now it is much more palatable.
I also found a little condiment squeeze bottle that works much better as a toothpaste dispenser than my old mason jar and a straw approach. It also works better because I can squeeze the bottle to break up the baking soda on the bottom when it settles out.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp coconut oil
- 6 tbsp baking soda
- 1 tsp Peppermint Essential Oil
- 1 tsp stevia powder
